Job Title: AVP Manufacturing

Location: Central Ohio, OH

Job Description:

The AVP of Manufacturing directs and coordinates activities of Company and aids VP of Manufacturing in formulating and administering manufacturing procedures. Participates in the developing of long-range strategic goals and objectives. Reviews activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine group progress toward stated goals and objectives. Ensures profits through management of operating budgets, resources and plans established through experience and vision.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interprets and communicates overall organization directives and applies them to the group.
  • Manages resources and personnel to obtain maximum benefit, through organization training and leadership; assesses training and development needs and recommends training activities as required.
  • Prepares operating budgets for manufacturing based on actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports, and other factors; ensures compliance with established budgetary guidelines, cost standards by operation and function.
  • Generates reports based on area of performance and data collected from the manufacturing process.
  • Works with Maintenance and Engineering to continuously minimize equipment breakdowns and malfunctions.
  • Oversees the establishment of work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates labor hour requirements for completion of job assignments; oversees loading and line balancing; ensures operational compliance with established production and shipping schedules; maximizes workforce utilization.
  • Reviews and approves recommended measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Formulates, recommends and interprets policies and procedures, specifications, and manufacturing procedures; takes appropriate corrective actions whenever deviations occur.
  • Identifies, develops, and participates in continuous improvement projects and programs to achieve work simplification, to eliminate non-value added activities, and cost reduction.
  • Follows and observes all regulatory agency requirements (ISO 9001, etc.) applicable to manufacturing and ensures these are also followed and observed by the group.
  • Ensures compliance with established Quality Assurance procedures in the manufacturing process.
  • Implements productivity and quality metrics and incentive programs to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Plans and directs the layout of equipment, workflow and assembly methods.
  • Ensures safe work environment and compliance with OSHA standards and other regulations.
  • Maintains operational knowledge of quality systems, product specifications, vital manufacturing processes, and machinery and equipment; stays abreast of latest developments in operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Lean Certified
  • 5-10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3-5 years of multi site management experience with 500 employees or more.
