LEAN/SIX SIGMA LEADER TO GROW INTO DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

The Company
Our client is a long established premier provider of electronic manufacturing services to advanced technology companies. This company specializes in custom manufacturing of high reliability electronics where quality comes first, but has created a "high intensity response culture" to react quickly to the customer's ever-changing needs. They have applied industry leading Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and lower the customer's total cost of ownership.
The Position
The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead the delivery of significant, quantifiable, annualized cost savings utilizing Lean and Six Sigma tools to generate inventory reductions / turns improvement and contribution margin increase. This person will also lead facility-wide training in Lean Manufacturing, including Kaizen events, Value-Stream Mapping, Single-Piece Flow, TPM, Setup Reduction, 5S, Kanban, etc. The Manager, reporting to the Executive Vice President of Operations, will develop and improve manufacturing processes through the use of Lean Sigma to reduce costs, drive the development of product flow, recommend and implement efficient lay-out of the manufacturing floor, and track the resulting benefit of those implemented changes. The CI Manager will drive 5S to the highest possible level and work with all employees to implement a culture of continuous improvement. A qualified CI Manager will be promoted to lead quality and then operations within 3 – 5 years.
Candidate Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the deployment of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools (3+ years of management or supervisory experience is a plus). In addition, candidates should have the following:
• Demonstrated track record of Lean implementation yielding measurable performance improvement or transformation from traditional batch manufacturing processes
• Formal Lean training/Six Sigma Black Belt required; Master Black Belt certification a plus
• The ability to work with all levels of staff throughout all facilities
• An advanced degree is highly desirable
• Promotability into quality leadership and operations within 3 – 5 years.
Compensation
Compensation will be based upon experience and leadership, but would most likely be in the $90K - $120K range with a bonus potential of 25%. The organization offers a competitive benefits package and relocation assistance.
