Job Description:

Provides technical discipline and leadership in a team environment to effectively plan and implement robust and capable processes. Identifies and implements improvements to processes to increase productivity, improve quality and reduce costs. Identifies processes for new technologies, provides technical support for developing process, design documents and equipment troubleshooting guidelines.

1) Responsible for directing the daily activities of the plant process engineers including prioritization and resource allocation to achieve manufacturing goals.
2) Composing User Requirements Specifications (URS) for equipment and upgrades.
3) Identifying capital needs for the process.
4) Support departmental change initiatives for continual improvement, specifically around Operational Excellence, 6-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing applications. Primary departmental driver for cost reduction initiatives.
5) Facilitate technical transfers with R&D.
6) Provides annual capacity analysis.
7) Provides technical expertise to project management teams during project lifecycles.
8) Executes low complexity projects, including:
a. Purchases of low cost equipment (lab furniture, laboratory equipment, process research equipment, etc.)
b. Composing associated CER and processing financial information.
c. Capital funding for outside services as it relates to manufacturing (risk assessments, validation services, process engineering assistance).
9) Responsible for drawing management in an assigned area for manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage Manufacturing Engineering functions.
Directly supervise team of Process Engineers.

Job Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing facilities.
  • Three to five years Process Engineering experience, directly supporting processes and equipment.
  • 5+ years of Leadership experience.
  • 7+ years experience in a GMP environment.
  • Proven Leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and team working abilities
  • Good Problem Solving skills using structured tools
  • Good working knowledge of plant systems and industrial equipment
  • Well developed abilities with personal computers
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance or High Performance Organization
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certified
